At
the end of the 70's, Italy marked a new business
policy and political economy which mainly
involved medium and small factories. The local
economy of San Benedetto del Tronto seized
the opportunity to re-qualify the fish market
and the entire political economy of the sea.
All these factors advantaged the rising of
a company which planed to meet the immediate
needs of local economy: VIMOINOX of Vincenzo
Mora.
The new company gained a hold upon the local
market, bringing a wave of novelty into small
factories, such as newly devised automated
equipment which guaranteed high-efficacy and
sanitary standards for fish processing.
Little by little these technological innovations
started to cross the threshold of local and
regional borders, spreading throughout the
country especially in the south of Italy and
in the islands where the fish market was flourishing
yet still behind in processing techniques.
Slowly the doors were unlocked also to the
big industry for product transformation and
processing, both for seafood and vegetables.
